Mid Autumn 2008

What an eventful mid autum i had this year. WAs greeted with a crying baby who is poking at my side (cos we normally bring her to co-sleep at around 6am cos she make noise) at 645am and got to realise that she was running a fever of 38 degrees. Gave her the paracetamol and sponged her for almost an hour. Fever went down back to normal and we thought that it was because the was sandwiched inbetween us thus the fan didn't get to her that's why hot until fever. haha

After the husband left for church, both baby and me slept for a while. Had to carry her to sleep cos she was a little cranky. After a while, put her down, to take her temperature again, realised that the temperature shot up till 38.2 degrees. At this moment, I thought either I saw wrongly or the braun thermometer spoil (hehe). Took the temperature again and its the same. End up, stripped her off her clothes and put her on the ikea changing mat to cool her down and sponge her. Decided to sponge her to try to bring the temperature down. For a couple of hours, the temperature went up again hoverin around 38.5 to 39.1. Fed another round of paracetamol but still no use. Used up till 2 ice packs for sponging also cannot bring the temperature down.

The husband came back and we headed off to ESH A&E. Saw the doc in a matter of mins and the doc prescribed something to be put into the anus. I didn't know it was to be inserted there cos the nurse didn't say. I thought was oral vaccine or injection. And the nurse even ask if I want to carry her while she does it. Good thing I told her better to put the baby down. haha. Of course the little one was screaming her vocal chords off while she was stuffed up the behind.

End of it all, $77 poorer and one back to the same boistorous baby. If only she could be as tame and demure as she is when she is sick when she is healthy. It would be bliss.

Went back to my mum's place to have dinner and also celebrate mid autumn (its a yearly affair where relatives would come by and we will hog the void deck area to eat our mooncakes while the kids show off their lanterns). Someone I never expected came into the house immediately after I fed my screaming baby via the sryinge her meds. Good thing she was fed earlier and not when that expected guest came in. If not so malu. haha. So while I was trying to coax the baby to keep quiet, I heard my mum introducing people and I was thinking who needs such introduction, since all are relatives. Low and behold, Mr & Mrs Pierre Png.

As the daughter of the ower of the house I had to go and introduce myself too. So anyways, it was quite silly to hear him say his name cos its like duh!! So how come the both of them appeared? Well, he's family as well (in some sense). My cousin married his brother, thus he's my cousin in law's brother.

My mum knew them before they came cos she brought them for some accupuncture before. So they were not strangers. Anyways, they were quite a sport and friendly.

That was my mid autumn and my baby's first. Unforgettable (the early morning part of course).

I'm amazed at what this mall has on baby products. The section is hidden in one part which I have not been to before all those times i went to mustafa. They range from Mothercare to China brands to brandless items especially bottle and teats. Some brandless ones look quite interesting. saw one b ottle 2oz nia. so small and cute. ahah. Tot of buying to feed water but with the recent news of water intoxication, decided not to. if you are looking for those home wear cheapskate tops and bottoms, there got tons also.

Maybe can go there slowly dig one of these days again.

Since I gave birth, I haven't been doing much shopping online. Finally, to return to my normal self, I went to check out some stuff and these are the things that i bought.

Sadly, only the polo t-shirt is for myself. The rest is for my precious princess (directly or indirectly). Not sure who's the one (me or my baby) doing some retail therapy. haha.

Got a new toy for free. Not exactly free but we downgraded our broadband plan. was on pormotion and since our camera is like close to become something from the dinosaur era. It comes with a photo printer too. Just in time to capture and print pictures of the little one..:)

Since there's a Drugstore spree going on by

lullabysins and heard many raves about this diaper cream "Destin", thought I should just get one to try. Also helped a friend get her baby's first toothpaste. Looks cute and reads yummy.
